Our Mission

Building a successful vascular practice: What you were not taught in your Fellowship

The Mote Vascular Foundation is a charitable foundation specifically designed to help combat the ravages of vascular disease through education and research.

The Board of The Mote Vascular Foundation, Inc. has been impressed that many young surgeons do not receive sufficient education about running a successful practice of vascular surgery, be it academic or community based. This leads to inefficiencies that can negatively impact patient care and the quality of life for the involved surgeons. Accordingly, the Foundation provides a symposium entitled, “Building a successful vascular practice: what you were not taught in your Fellowship” for fellows and vascular surgeons who are in their first 1-5 years in practice.  The program covers all aspects of practice-building, including choosing the right practice environment, business issues, coding, malpractice, general insurance issues, government regulations and setting up outpatient diagnostic and angiography centers.
